HART SCHOOL DISTRICT IS ASKING FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AGAIN IN REVISED NOTICE OF PREPARATION FOR AN
EIR
The William S. Hart Union High School District is again asking for public input for the proposed High School on Romero Canyon.
All comments MUST BE received by February 28.

CHIQUITA LANDFILL PLANS TO EXPAND
Operational acreage at the Chiquita Landfill would expand by 50 percent to accommodate the future solid waste disposal needs
of the Santa Clarita Valley and other Southland communities under a plan filed with the county.
The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning is preparing an environmental impact report, which will have its own
public-comment period at a later date. Thus, hearings before the Regional Planning Commission and ultimately the Board of
Supervisors are several months away. The NOTICE OF PREPARATION of an EIR was completed on Jan 4th. You can read more about it

CASTAIC CRIME REPORT
From October to January, there have been 2 reports of Rape, 2 Assaults, 14 Burglaries, 19 Reports of Larceny. 3 cars have been
stolen and 1 report of Arson, all in Castaic. There is a rise of Theft Related Crimes of Opportunity. To read more about what

LA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVES NEW GENERAL PLAN FOR SANTA CLARITA (ONE VALLEY ONE VISION)
On September 28, 2011, the Regional Planning Commission voted to recommend approval by the Board of Supervisors. The new
General Plan may affect your property development rights.

CASTAIC HIGH SCHOOL OPENING PUSHED BACK ANOTHER YEAR
The Hart district has pushed back the opening of Castaic high school to fall, 2015, saying the addition of more property to
the high school site requires more studies, official said Monday. When initially approved, officials with the William S. Hart
School District originally wanted to open the high school to students in fall, 2013.
